Raja faces allegations by the Opposition that there are irregularities in allocation of 2G spectrum. Last week, CBI searched offices of the Department of Telecommunications and many new private telecom players, who were given spectrum last year in connection with charges made against the telecom minister. Raja said spectrum was alloted as per the recommendations made by industry regulator Trai and after consultation with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
