Defiance Tech foraying into manufacturing and enterprise areas

V Sumantran, Chairman, Defiant Tech and Executive Vice Chairman, Hinduja Automotive, told a press meet here that the company was currently operating in the areas of Product Testing and Validation Services and Design and Engineering Services in automotive industry, primarily working in India and the US. The expansion would cover areas of Enterprises and Manufacturing services catering to aerospace and defence and general manufacturing. "This next step is a big step," he said without divulging details on the investment or the clientele. However some of the clients included those in the Fortune 500 list, he said. Subramaniam said that operations were presently underway in Chennai while sales teams were in place in US and Germany. Staff strength will be increased to around 5000 in another three years against the present number of over 1000, he said. Asked whether the current global economic situation was conducive for Defiant Tech"s expansion plans, Sumantran said there "is no good time or bad time. We are just looking at the opportunity."
